Police detain PDP leaders in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, Oct 29 : Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday detained many People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leaders in the summer capital city Srinagar.

As per Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, police foiled PDP organised protest and detailed many leaders who and gathered to protest against the new land laws in Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile PDP in its official Twitter handle also confirmed the whole incident said, .@JmuKmrPolice detained @jkpdp leaders and workers who had gathered in #Srinagar to protest against the new land laws in #Jammu and #Kashmir.

In another tweet party said, Protest against Land Laws, PDP office sealed in #Srinagar, Senior @jkpdp leader Khursheed Alam along with many workers arrested by #Srinagar police.

Former chief minister Jammu and Kashmir and PDP president also wrote on her Twitter and said PDP’s @parawahid, Khurshid Alam, Rouf Bhat,@MohsinQayoom_ & @buttkout were arrested by J&K police for protesting against the settler colonial land laws thrusted upon people of J&K. We will continue to raise our voice collectively & wont tolerate attempts to change demographics.

Meanwhile, The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Wednesday staged strong protests here, seeking immediate repeal of the new land laws which have paved the way for people from outside Jammu and Kashmir to buy land in the erstwhile state.
