Invokes Islam to eradicate drug menace from society

Sopore : The Station House Officer Sopore Saturday refers to Islam to eradicate drug menace from the society and urged the elders to wake up against the menace.
As per Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, SHO Sopore Khalid Fayaz gave an emotional speech in front of a large gathering at a function here at Sopore.
Khalid urged the elders of the society not to retire and leave society to the ruins but to wake up and act steadily against the drug menace and people involved in drug abuse.

“Our Islam is a religion of peace and prohibits use of drugs, beating of women and parents. These social evils must be eradicated from society and elders have a special duty in this regard. You are not retired but your duty starts now. You need to act against the social evils and for that matter our support is with you,” Khalid deliberated upon the people participating in the event
He said that during Nasha Mukt Programmes, people come forward and ensure their support but when it comes to practicality no one is there.
“For a better and just society, we all need to do our part. Police is doing it’s part professionally, but the young and old of the society and even the women folk have a duty to stop our youth from getting involved in drug abuse. We have to save this society,” he added.
