Handwara, Dec 11 : In a significant move in the fight against drug trafficking, Handwara Police have successfully seized property worth 15 lakhs linked to a notorious drug peddler.
A police spokesperson said that the property, consisting of a two-story building with two shops and a hall owned by Reyaz Ahmad Lone, has been attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act 1985.
This decisive action comes as part of an ongoing effort to combat substance abuse and drug-related crimes in the region. The police identified the property as having been unlawfully acquired through the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, an investigation triggered by case FIR No. 84/2020 filed at PS Kralgund.
Reyaz Ahmad Lone is currently under detention in Kote-Bilwal, Jammu, under the provisions of the PIT-NDPS Act. Local residents have expressed their support for the Handwara Police’s commitment to tackling drug-related issues, emphasizing the community’s desire for a safer environment.
