Protest in Ganderbal against power crisis

Date:

Srinagar: Residents of Gratpora Benhuma of Ganderbal on Thursday blocked Bypass road to protest against the power crisis in the area.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said the protesters, mostly women held a dharna and disrupted traffic movement on the road for about half an hour and alleged that the area is reeling under darkness from the past many weeks while PDD has been making no efforts to restore the electricity in the area.

Later a police team reached the spot and assured protestors that matter will be taken with the higher authorities for early redressal.

Despite repeated attempts, PDD officials were not available for comments.
