Workers recall huge contribution of veteran leader; say he contributed on all fronts for J&K

Srinagar 17 Sep : The imposition of Public Safety Act (PSA) on the National Conference Chief Patron Dr. Farooq Abdullah have jolted the party workers and supporters throughout the valley as they term the move unfortunate. They term the Centre’s step to book the political stalwart under PSA as a “sheer political vendetta.”

According to wire service— the state administration have booked the former Chief Minister and the present Member of Parliament under Public Safety Act (PSA) after over a month of his detention at his Gupkar residence. Abdullah’s Gupkar residence has been declared as jail.

Talking to news agency, a National Conference party worker Nisar Ahmad, who had reached NC headquarter, said: “The move is completely unjustified and it questions the democratic setup of the country. How can a former Chief Minister and present Member of Parliament became a threat to Public safety?”

Nisar said that the current situation in the valley is not so good and taking such decisions hampers the efforts of restoration of normalcy in the region. He further said that, “The National conference chief have always been on the forefront for the welfare of the state and his contribution need not to be ignored.”

Another party worker, wishing anonymity told wire service— that the present political scenario in the valley is completely shattered and the slapping of PSA on the mainstream prominent leader like “Dr Sahab is an ample example of the worst time that the state administration is engulfed in.”

He said that Dr Farooq has always worked for the welfare and development of the state and have always represented the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the forefront at all national and international forums.

He further said that this is unfortunately a major blow to our party and this announcement have hurt the sentiments of every citizen of the erstwhile J&K state who have always supported him in his political career. “By slapping the draconian act on our veteran leader we see it as an attempt to tarnish his reputation and put a blot on the dignity of our beloved leader. We will surely knock the doors of justice on this.” (KNO)
