Jammu : In order to prevent road accidents and loss of precious lives RS Pura police launched drive against traffic violators to tackle violations of traffic rules.
Special police teams led by SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan with station house officers Bishnah , Arnia and Miran Sahib conducted drives against traffic violation for one week in the area.
During the week long drive around 1500 two wheelers were challaned, 500 were seized.
Police said that special drive would be undertaken in future , and also urged motorists to follow traffic rules and adhere to safety norms.
Meanwhile general public hailed the efforts of police and also appreciated this step to prevent road accidents.
