SRINAGAR, December 7: The State Advisory Council (SAC) has in principle agreed to the approval of merger of salary of SSA teachers in state Budget.
However, despite repeated attempts no officer confirmed this report till late evening.
Reliable sources reveal to Kashmir Despatch that it was agreed by the SAC that around 27000 supernumerary posts shall be created to absorb these teachers as rest of the SSA teachers have already been absorbed as GLT.
The process will require at around RS 1000 crore budget. Meanwhile, these posts will be declared null and void as and when these SSA teachers are promoted as Masters, sources informed.
Besides the SAC has agreed to release their salary on 7th pay commission basis from September 2018 onwards. Modalities for this are being worked out by the finance department, sources added.
Pertinently, advisor Khurshid Ahmad Ganaie has played a pivotal role in the approval of this proposal in today’s SAC meeting that started from 4 pm and concluded at 6:30 pm.
Advisor Ganaie has earlier also put in hectic efforts to resolve the long pending demand of SSA teachers who were seen on roads often to protest for the release of their pending salaries.
