Bijbehara, Aug 07 : Bijbhera premier league cricket tournament was kick started in Bijebhera higher secondary school ground by secretary sports council Nuzhat Gull in the presence of SSP Anantnag Mir Imtiaz Hussain and International cricketer Parveen Rasool on Saturday.
In a statement, issued to Kashmir Despatch a spokesperson said that more than 40 teams are participating in the cricket tournament, which is being played on turf wicket.
“The inaugural Match was played between Bijebhera and Darigund sports .
Secretary sports council ,Nuzhat Gull while addressing players said these tournament will provide platform to the rural talent and many players like Parvez Rasool are the products of this kind of tournaments.
SSP Anantnag Mir Imtiaz said that these tournaments protect players from the use of drugs and will help also in the eradication of drug menace.
Parvez Rasool said this league tournament will help in boosting the morale of players hailing from rural areas.
