Srinagar, Nov 26: Safeena Beigh who is contesting District Development Council (DDC) elections in Wagoora Constituency said that there are several issues on the ground which are unheard as her agenda will be to readdress those concerns and bring development for people.

Talking to Kashmir Despatch, Safeena said, “The role of District Development Council elections are confined to certain rules and all the financial powers are under DDC and my agenda is to work for development on the ground level as I believe there are many issues, which needs to be redressed”.

She added, “Peace has been the biggest issue in Jammu and Kashmir. We know there are two things that generate employment, one is tourism and other is government jobs, which are also limited.”

“While my motive is that if I win the election, I will engage youth on the fifty per cent of the development work and secondly educated women should also have their share in developmental work”, she added.

Safeena added, “As far as other work is concerned, those issues will be taken up with higher authorities and I think it won’t be difficult for me to do such work at any level if I win the election”.

“Frankly speaking, I was not interested in DDC elections however getting consent from Muzaffar Beigh and with people showering support I was offered to contest from several constituencies. However, contesting elections from Wagoora constituency was a challenge for me and I thought why not contest from this area and it is up to voters now”, she added.

Safeena was addressing election rally in Nasihat village in Wagoora Constituency.
