SIA charge sheets sim card sellers using forged documents in Handwara

Srinagar, Aug 04 : The State Investigating Agency on Thursday filed a charge sheet in Kupwara court against two accused persons involved in selling sim cards using forged documents.

According to a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), SIA filed a charge sheet before a court in Kupwara in case FIR No. 08/2022 u/s 420, 468, 471, 120-B, 201 IPC of P/S CIK/SIA against two accused persons namely Idress Ahmad Baba son of Abdul Ahad and Asif Ahmad Dar son of Mohd Jamal Dar—both residents of Handwara, who are in judicial custody.

The statement reads that the accused persons are agents of franchisee namely Bin-amin communication Zachaldara Handwara and the case was registered in Police Station CIK/SIA Srinagar.

“The franchisee or POS was found issuing sim cards through uploading fake documents and using fraudulent means for carrying out illegal activities”, it reads.

It reads that on the basis of evidence collected, allegations were proved against the accused persons who had issued SIM cards by forging the election cards of different persons without their knowledge.
