Derabassi, June 10: A 20-year-old fan of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, who was shot dead by unknown assailants, died by suicide, informed police on Friday.
The youth was allegedly upset over the death of Shubhdeep Singh aka Sidhu Moosewala and took the drastic step after watching bhog ceremony and antim ardas of the late singer.
According to reports, the deceased has been identified as Jaswinder Singh, a resident of Dera Bassi. He reportedly consumed a poisonous substance, after which he was admitted to the hospital from where he was referred to Chandigarh.
However, he was declared dead. The deceased Jaswinder Singh was said to have been disturbed after the bhog and antim ardas of Sidhu Moose Wala. He watched the antim ardas live after which he was disturbed. Notably, he was unemployed and used to live at home.
Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead on May 29 by unknown assailants in Punjab’s Mansa district. The investigation into the matter is underway and Punjab Police has claimed to have several leads in the case.
In a major development, the Interpol has issued a red corner notice against gangster Goldy Brar, who has claimed the responsibility for Sidhu Moosewala’s killing. (Agencies)
