Soldier killed, cop on leave injured in Pak shelling along LOC in Rajouri

Jammu, June 11 : An army soldier was killed in a cross border shelling along the line of control in Rajouri district of Jammu Divison on Wednesday night.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said the armies of India and Pakistan on Wednesday night exchanged gunfire along the line of control (LOC) at Manjakote sector in Rajouri district.

In the shelling one army soldier was killed while a Jammu and Kashmir Police man on leave was injured in cross border shelling reports added.

An official confirming to Kashmir Despatch said that one army soldier of 14 Punjab Ragment identified as Nk. Gurcharan Singh lost life. He said in the shelling a cop identified as Namitullah son of Faiz Alam on leave recieved injuries at Rajdhani village of Manjakote. The officer said teams have been deputed to the areas to assess the situation.
