Srinagar, May 19 : Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday said that militants killed in central Kashmir’s Srinagar District were affiliated with Hibz Mujahideen militant outfit.
Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh said in last night’s operation at Nawakadal locality in Srinagar two militants were killed, they have been identified as Junaid Ahmad Sehrai from Srinagar and Tariq Ahmad Shiekh from Pulwama.
Pertinently, The gunfight began around 2 am after a joint team of the CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a cordon and search operation in the area following inputs about the presence of militants in Nawakadal locality in Srinagar.
Mobile internet and mobile calling services, except on BSNL postpaid, have been snapped in Srinagar.
