The Srinagar Hub of the Global Shapers Community took a significant step towards menstrual health awareness with their workshop titled “Don’t Whisper Embracing Monthly Rhythm” at Al Huda Public School Khayam on Saturday.
This workshop forms part of an ongoing project in collaboration with the Noida Hub of Global Shapers and Menstrupedia, an Indian startup dedicated to providing educational materials on menstrual health.
Led by Syed Uzma Hamid, the Curator of The Srinagar Hub, said that the project aims to educate and raise awareness about menstrual health among adolescent girls in Kashmir.
She said by the end of 2024, their ambitious goal is to reach 5,000 adolescent girls through these workshops.
The Global Shapers Community, an initiative by the World Economic Forum, has been instrumental in bringing together young leaders and change-makers from around the world. With their presence in over 150 countries and more than 500 hubs globally, the Srinagar Hub stands as a beacon of hope in Kashmir, being the sole hub associated with the Global Shapers Community in the region.
The overarching mission of the Global Shapers Community aligns perfectly with this workshop, as it strives to promote positive change, foster innovation, and facilitate collaboration among young leaders.
Through initiatives like these, the community works tirelessly towards creating a future that is inclusive and sustainable.
