Sopore : The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Raina said on Sunday that the administration has identified three locations in the town for the proper rehabilitation of street vendors.
ADC Sopore S.A Raina informed Kashmir Despatch that over the past two months, the administration has been actively working on resolving this issue. They have engaged with various groups representing street vendors to ensure their concerns are taken into account.
The officer stated that the identified locations will be utilized to rehabilitate the street vendors in an organized manner, allowing them to continue their livelihood.
He said this step is pivotal to address the need of the hour, as it will not only prevent inconvenience to commuters but also ensure smooth traffic flow.
ADC Sopore emphasized that the administration is committed to the overall development of Sopore. However, achieving this goal requires cooperation from all sections of society.
He urged everyone to join hands and contribute towards making Sopore a green and clean place.
Pertinent to mention here that Sunday witnessed a remarkable absence of street vendors on the roadsides in Sopore. As a result, traffic flow was significantly smoother throughout the town.
