Divisional Comissioer Kashmir P.K Pole (IAS) Wednesday said that suitable action will be taken against ADC Baramulla for whacking people especially women lockdown violators in the town.
“We will check under which circumstances the step was taken and what led the officer to take such a step. Only after that a suitable action will follow as it is equally important to check the circumstances ,” Div Com said as per Kashmir Despatch during a surprise visit to sub district hospital Sopore.
Earlier ADC was quoted by one of the news portal The Kashmirwalla as saying that : “It was not a wooden stick but a maize plant, extremely soft. No one would be hurt.”
He has said that it was “just a deterrent to make people understand”. “Otherwise, it wasn’t a punishment, We didn’t hurt anyone,” said the ADC.
Earlier in a viral video, ADC Baramulla could be seen whacking covid 19 lockdown violators by a stick.
