Srinagar, Aug 27: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Thursday ordered the transfer and posting of 14 senior police officers, including changes in the leadership of the Kashmir and Jammu Zones.
According to Government Order No. 438-Home of 2026, issued by the Home Department, Sujit Kumar, IPS (AGMUT:2007), has been transferred from IG Security and posted as IG Kashmir Zone against an available vacancy.
Tejinder Singh, IPS (AGMUT:2008), has been transferred from IG CID J&K and posted as IG Jammu Zone, replacing Bhim Sen Tuti.
The reshuffle also saw several senior officers assigned new responsibilities across CID, Armed Police, Security, Railways and the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
M.K. Sinha, IPS (1996), has been transferred from ADG HQ and posted as ADG CID J&K, replacing Nitish Kumar, who has been posted as ADG Armed Police J&K.
Uttam Chand, IPS (2002), has been posted as IGP Railways, J&K, while continuing to hold additional charge of IGP Police Operations and Services at Police Headquarters.
Vivek Gupta, IPS (2007), has been transferred from IGP Railways and posted as IGP Security, replacing Sujit Kumar. Bhim Sen Tuti has been posted as IG HQ, J&K.
At the district level, Sahil Sarangal has been transferred from SSP Handwara and posted as SSP Pulwama, while Sunny Gupta has been posted as SSP Kishtwar. Naresh Singh, who was SSP Kishtwar, has been transferred as SSP Rajouri.
Tahir Saleem Khan has been posted as SSP Handwara, while Muzaffar Ahmad Shah has been appointed as Staff Officer to IG Kashmir Zone.
The order was issued in the interests of administration and signed by Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department, Chandraker Bharti, IAS.
