Suspected COVID-19 girl who died at GMC Baramulla tests negative

Baramulla, May 02: The 18-year-old girl suspected coronavirus (COVID-19), who died on Friday at GMC Baramulla in north Kashmir, has tested negative for the virus.


An official told Kashmir Despatch The swab sample which was taken from the teenager who died on Friday and today reports came negative.


A health official at GMC Baramulla also confirmed to this newspaper said the 18-year-old girl from Khuroo Langate Handwara died of a heart attack, however, because of new guidelines that all those who have a high fever and chest infection should also be treated as COVID-19 suspects.


The doctor said the girl as per the family had high fever and breathlessness from the last ten days, however her swab sample for coronavirus was taken and sent for test, and today reports came negative the doctor added.
