VINOD BHAT
NEW DELHI, July 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday delivered a powerful address in the Lok Sabha, celebrating the success of “Operation Mahadev” and “Operation Sindoor”—India’s recent military responses to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack. He announced that the terrorists involved in the April 22 massacre had been eliminated, and Pakistan’s terror infrastructure was reduced to rubble in a swift and decisive retaliation.
Referring to the military operation as part of a new counter-terror doctrine, the Prime Minister said that India’s response to terrorism has entered a new era. “This is not just revenge, this is Vijayotsav—a celebration of the destruction of terrorist headquarters,” Modi said to thunderous applause in the House. “I stand here as the voice of 140 crore Indians, whose strength and resolve have been proven once again.”
From Pledge to Action: Pahalgam Attack Avenged
The April 22 attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 innocent lives—mostly tourists and a pony operator—sparked national outrage. Recalling his immediate reaction after the tragedy, PM Modi said, “I deliberately issued my statement in English so the world would hear us clearly: We will destroy the terrorists. I had said, hum aatankiyon ko mitti me mila denge—and that’s exactly what our brave forces did.”
According to the Prime Minister, three terrorists directly involved in the Pahalgam massacre were gunned down in Operation Mahadev, which concluded just a day ago. He rebuked opposition leaders who questioned the timing of the operation, saying, “Is their frustration so deep that they even mock the sacrifices and victories of our forces?”
Operation Sindoor: Decimating Terror Camps Deep Inside Pakistan
PM Modi described Operation Sindoor as a calibrated and powerful cross-border strike that demolished key terror camps in Pakistan, including those in Bahawalpur and Muridke. “They thought these terror hubs were untouchable. We turned them into ash in just 22 minutes,” he declared. “They issued nuclear threats to intimidate us—but they failed. Their handlers of terrorism are still sleepless.”
He revealed that Pakistan retaliated with a massive offensive, launching over 1,000 missiles and drones. But India’s air defence, Modi said, “scattered them like straws.” Pakistan even spread lies about damage to Indian airbases—particularly Adampur—but Modi said these claims were laid to rest when he personally visited the site and saw it intact.
India’s New Counter-Terror Doctrine: From Sindoor to Sindhu
Elaborating on India’s evolving military posture, Modi declared: “From Sindoor to Sindhu, India has made it clear—if there’s a terror attack on our soil, we will respond on our own timeline, in our own way, and with full force. This is the new India. Those who fund terror will pay a steep price.”
He also claimed that after enduring heavy losses, Pakistan’s top military officials made frantic calls to India. “Their Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) called us begging, ‘Please stop. We can’t take more,’” Modi said. “We told them our operation had clear limits—but by then, the message was already delivered.”
Global Support for India; Pakistan Isolated
In a clear indication of diplomatic success, Modi said only three out of 193 countries backed Pakistan after India launched Operation Sindoor. “The world stood with India. Not a single nation asked us to halt our strikes. Pakistan stood isolated, exposed, and humiliated.”
Targeting the Opposition
The Prime Minister didn’t shy away from attacking political opponents, particularly the Congress. “They mocked me, called Operation Sindoor a ‘tamasha’, and questioned the credibility of our forces. But they can’t win the trust of Indians with such rhetoric,” he said.
Final Message: No Full Stops, Only Commas
Concluding his speech, Modi asserted that India’s fight against terrorism is far from over. “Operation Sindoor has sent a clear signal—terrorists and their backers will be punished. This is not the end. There might be a comma, but never a full stop. India will strike when it must, as it must.”
