Tragic Accident on Flyover

Date:

The death of Natipora resident in Flyover accident on Sunday evening is tragic. Demise of head of the family adds more pathos to such mishaps. The bereaved family has not only lost its head but the only bread earner in this tragic incident. Accidents do take place and is not something new to this place but the way a truck plying on the wrong side of the flyover rammed into a light motor vehicle must awaken the traffic department’s sluggish approach in such incidents.

How was the truck allowed to ply on the flyover on its wrong side? This question needs to be probed. Although the police has already registered a case into the incident but it needs to file the charge sheet in a time bound manner before the designated court and the prosecution must deliver effectively so that the culprit is given a stern punishment as per the law.

It is reported that another passenger who was in the car has sustained grievous injuries in the accident. The administration must act swiftly and disburse the ex gratia in favour of the deceased labourer and must also provide best of the treatment available to the injured. It is also reported that the family of the deceased has no source of income. The government must also ensure that the affected family receives some sort of recurring financial assistance from the social welfare department so that it is not compelled to receive alms for its daily sustenance.
