Two Young Boys Among Five Drown in North Kashmir


Rescue Operation Underway

Baramulla : Three labourers have drowned in the River Jehlum in Uri town, while two boys have drowned in a nallah in Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said the incidents occurred in two separate locations in the northern region of Kashmir on Sunday.

According to reports, the three labourers were reportedly washed away while removing the old Gungal bridge over the River Jehlum in Uri. A rescue operation has been launched to recover their bodies.

In another tragic incident in Mundaji area of Sopore, two minor boys slipped and fell into a nallah while on their way to a mosque for an Islamic function. One boy has been rescued, but the search for the other is ongoing.
