Residents will get water per schedule soon : Jal Shakti Ananthnag

Srinagar: Several villages in South Kashmir’s Ananthnag district are facing a water crisis with the Jal Shakti department supplying the residents water once in two to three days, while in some villages once in a week.
Residents of Palpora ,Ara, Koshipora and Damaal villages of this Ananthnag district on a phone conversation with Kashmir Despatch said since the past 20 days they are without water and authorities hardly bother to look into this issue.
They said Kralgund village in this northern region is worst affected due to the non-availability of water in the village for the past 20 days.
The residents of these villages said water crisis has become one of the major issues in our villages as despite living in the modern world we do not have access to safe drinking water and clear water for sanitation purpose.
The villagers said it has become very difficult for the concerned department to provide people with drinking water to maintain their day-to-day routines.
The inhabitants of these villages said we are facing water shortage from the last two weeks and nobody bothers to look into the crises as there is no water to drink, cook and wash.
Meanwhile, the residents appealed to the higher authorities to look into the matter and restore water supply in these areas as soon as possible so that they ll not face more inconvenience.
Talking with Kashmir Despatch Xen Jal Shakti Department Ananthnag Mohammad Siraj Shah said matter will be looked and very soon residents will get water per schedule. The officer said these two months are very crucial in Kashmir as irrigation season is also at peak so water is getting converted into multiple sections due to which in some areas people are facing a crisis.
