World Environment Day Celebrated in Zone Bijbehara

Antantnag June 5, 2023: The Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Bijbehara, in collaboration with the Zonal Physical Education Officer Bijbehara, Sir Syed Memorial School Zirpora, and Municipality Committee Bijbehara, came together to celebrate World Environment Day today in Zone Bijbehara. The event aimed to emphasize the significance of the environment and remind people not to take nature for granted.

Over 820 students from Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Bijbehara and Sir Syed Memorial School Zirpora actively participated in the event, showcasing their commitment to environmental conservation. In addition to the students, field officials of ZPEO Zone Bijbehara, staff members of GHSS Bijbehara, staff members of Sir Syed Memorial School Zirpora, and officials from Municipality Bijbehara were present to support and ensure the smooth execution of the program.

Vice Principal of GHSS Bijbehara, Nazir Ahmad Hajam, spoke on the occasion, emphasizing the Earth’s significance as our home and the collective responsibility to keep it clean and green. He pledged to make the world a better place to live by taking immediate action to protect and preserve the environment. World Environment Day serves as a reminder that safeguarding the environment is of utmost importance and is celebrated annually during the first week of June, with June 5 marking the main day of the celebration.

The event in Zone Bijbehara successfully created awareness among the students and participants about the importance of environmental conservation. By fostering a sense of responsibility towards nature, the celebration aimed to inspire positive action for a greener and more sustainable future.
