Younger sister of senior journalist Karamat Qayoom passed away

Baramulla: Sister of senior journalist and patron Baramulla Working Journalist Associaiton (BWJA) and Human Aid Society Kashmir Karamat Qayoom passed away on Tuesday after prolonged illness at her residence in Parry Mohalla Sangri Baramulla.

Large number of people participated in the funeral prayers of the slain lady at her ancestral graveyard besides people from cross section society including socio-economic, political, law and religious organizations have expressed their condolences and solidarity with bereaved family and renowned journalist Karamat Qayoom.

Condolences and prayer meetings Joint Fateh ceremonies were held through out the day in which rich tributes and homage was paid to departed soul. In the condolence ceremonies sympathies and condolences were expressed to the bereaved and family on the sad demise.

A delegation of BWJA led by President Gulzar Ahmad flanked by vice president Anzhar Mehjoo, General Secretary Tahir Bukhari, Chief spokesman Reyaz Rashid and photojournalist Nisar Malik visited the family to express their deep sympathies with the bereaved family. North Kashmir Journalist Association (NKJA) also expressed condolences and sympathies with the bereaved family.

While expressing his deep sympathies to the members of the bereaved family, General Secretary Beopar Mandal Tariq Ahmad Magloo prayed for the departed soul.

Meanwhile, Chairman Human Aid Society Kashmir Bashir Ahmad Mir called an urgent condolences meeting of it executive, general body and volunteer members at Head office Dewanbagh Baramulla.

In a condolence statement that the members expressed their grief and sorrows on the sad demise of sister of HAS Kashmir patron Haji Karamat Qayoom who is also the senior journalist of north Kashmir. Later a delegation of HAS members jointly led by chairman Bashir Ahmed Mir flanked by Chairman Bashir Ahmed Mir, Vice Chairman Peerzada Irshad, Mohammad Yaseen Shah Coordinator, Zahoor Ah Rather, Mohammad Youssf Khan, Riyaz Ah War. Mohammad Younis Khan,Nazir Ahmad Lone and Lateef Ahmad khan, Media Head Reyaz Ganai.

Injuman Urdu Suhaafat – journalist body representatives of Baramullla Fayaz Bukhari Majid Sheeri and Manzoor Sheeri also visited the family of slain sister of Karamat Qayoom .

In its condolence statement, Baramulla BAR association has expressed their condolences and sympathies with the bereaved family and noted journalist Karamat Qayoom.
