INDORE, NOV 15: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, on Friday called upon the youth of India to take the lead in driving the country toward a self-reliant and modern Viksit Bharat by 2047, asserting that the next two decades will determine India’s global standing. He was addressing graduating students at the Fifth Convocation Ceremony of SAGE University, Indore, where he urged them to innovate fearlessly, adopt new ideas and contribute meaningfully to national development.
In his keynote address, LG Kavinder said the youth form the “core energy” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India by 2047. Stressing that the convocation marks not the end of education but the beginning of real-world responsibility, he advised students to convert classroom learning into purposeful action. “Young minds must adopt new ideas, innovate with confidence and lead India’s transformative progress with responsibility and determination,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor emphasised that innovation, skill development and futuristic learning will define India’s technological and economic advancement in the years ahead. He urged the graduating batch to evolve into “creators, thinkers and leaders” capable of strengthening the nation’s scientific and economic capacity. “The success of Viksit Bharat depends on how effectively our youth transform knowledge into innovation and innovation into impact,” he remarked.
Ladakh Emerging as a Frontier Hub of Innovation
Highlighting Ladakh’s rapid transformation, LG Kavinder said the Union Territory is emerging as a frontier hub in education, renewable energy, climate studies, mountain ecology and advanced research. He noted that the administration has modernised school infrastructure, infused technology into classrooms and expanded access to quality higher education across the region.
Reiterating Ladakh’s commitment to nurturing young talent, he said efforts are underway to build an ecosystem where youth become job creators rather than job seekers. This, he added, would support entrepreneurship, research-driven development and sustainable growth in the Himalayan region.

The Lieutenant Governor lauded SAGE University for its rapid rise in the field of higher education, strong industry linkages and modern academic facilities. He said the institution reflects “the spirit of a confident, self-reliant and future-ready India,” underscoring that its academic excellence aligns with national aspirations for innovation-led growth.
Earlier, LG Kavinder conferred degrees upon graduating students, including 5 D.Litt., 35 Ph.D., and a large number of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees across disciplines such as Management, Journalism, Science & Technology, Arts, Commerce, Agriculture, Design, Pharmaceuticals, Advanced Computing and Law.

Er. Sanjeev Agrawal, Chancellor of SAGE University, congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to apply their expertise responsibly in their professional and personal lives. Anuradha Paudwal; educationist Urolbek Normuratov from Uzbekistan; International textile technocrat Mr. Akhilesh Kumar Jain; and senior university officials including Vice Chancellor Dr. Ankur Arun Kulkarni, Director General Dr. Sudhir Agrawal, and Registrar Dr. Manish Choudhary.
The event concluded with a resounding call by LG Kavinder for youth across India to rise to the challenge, innovate with purpose, and steer the nation confidently toward a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
