ANANTNAG, Aug 27: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Anantnag, Gulzar Ahmad Bhat Saturday conducted surprise checks of various offices in Sub division Mattan.
During these inspections, 10 people were found absent from duty and were placed on suspension by order of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag. The ADC inspected the attendance of employees at Tehsil Office, Block Development Office and GHS Mattan among other offices. During the inspection 4 employees of BDO Office and 6 employees of Tehsil Office were found absent and have been placed under suspension pending enquiry by Deputy Commissioner Anantnag.
The Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr Basharat Qayoom said that the inspections are being carried out to ensure that employees are present in offices during duty hours. He said that all district officers have been directed to ensure their employees are accessible to the public to ensure responsive governance. He said such surprise inspections will continue.
