18 member Parliament standing committee delegation arrives in Sgr on study tour

Srinagar, Jan 21 : A 18 -member Parlimentarian delegation has arrived on a study visit in Kashmir to study tourism, culture and transport sectors extensively.

A senior Government official said that the members are part of standing committee on tourism, culture and transport.

” 13 MP arrived on Wednesday, rest will join them Thursday. Actually it is 31 member delegation, 13 are officials.”

Officials said they will review the tourism infrastructure and would meet officials and other stakeholders associated with the sector regarding publicity and promotions in the valley in the Vivanta hotel where they are staying also.

“The delegation would also delibrate
Road, Tourism, Travel and Hospitality infrastructure.

The rail, air and road connectivity would be an important area of their study and would seek suggestions for its improvement,” he said.

Meanwhile the delegation would also meet representatives of different political parties including Farooq Abdullah on Thursday, sources added.

Meanwhile on the first day of their visit, they visited Dachigham Wildlife Sanctuary and Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar.

On the second day ( Thursday)of their visit they will meet NHAI officials also regarding the status of Srinagar-Jammu issue.

On Friday they are travelling to Gulmarg. (Agencies )
