Sumbal, Oct 29: Police in north Kashmir’s Bandipora District on Thursday claimed to have arrested six gamblers from Sumbal area.
Police statment reads, acting on a specific information about the presence of gamblers in Check Ganastan Sumbal ,police party of police station Sumbal and Police Post Nowgam under the supervision of SDPO Sumbal and SHO PS Sumbal apprehended 06 persons namely Mohd Maqbool Naikoo 02. Syed Reyaz Shah 03. Imtiyaz Hussain Ganaie 04. Mohammad Qasim Dar residents of Nowgam Sumbal 05. Mohammad Shafi Bhat R/O Zaripora Tergam and 06. Mohammad Haneef Dar residents of Gund Khalil Nowgam who were found gambling at check Ganastan and from them stake money of Rs 7600 and playing cards were recovered.
In this regard case FIR NO. 162/2020 U/S 13 Gambling Act stands registered in Police Station Sumbal and further investigation taken up.
