LG, Omar Offer Condolence To Bereaved Families
Srinagar, May 27 : Seven army men were killed and 19 others were seriously injured when vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident in Turtuk area of Ladakh on Friday.
A defence ministry spokesperson said that 26 persons were injured in the accident and seven died later. He said that 19 other soldiers have been air lifted to Military Hospital Chandigarh.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that he was “deeply pained to learn about loss of lives of our brave Army personnel in a tragic bus accident in Ladakh.”
“ My heartfelt condolences to bereaved families in this hour of grief. Their selfless service to the nation will always be remembered,” he said in a tweet. He also prayed for speedy recovery of injured.
“Very sorry to hear about the deaths of our soldiers in a road accident in Turtuk area of Nubra, Ladakh. My condolences to their families. May their souls rest in peace,” former chief minister and vice president of national Conference said in tweet.
