Don’t Lose Your Cool to Covid

Date:

Feelings of fear, anger, sadness, worry, numbness, and frustration are some of the common side effects of Covid-19 lockdown. The mental stress among the people has been continuously growing due to the pandemic, while some of us are losing our psychological composure with every passing day.

It is normal to feel apprehensive or worried during such conditions. But the longevity of the stress can cause immense, and in few cases irreversible changes to our behaviours and temperament.

Studies around the world have shown that losing appetite, irregular sleep patterns, insomnia, spikes in diabetes and blood pressure are some of the common effects that people have been experiencing under the lockdowns.

Even few researches have shown claustrophobic tendencies developing among the individuals who sub-consciously after behave in a complacent manner and care less about the requisite SOP’s.

Today’s world is busy grappling with a vicious infection that attacks the physical organs of an individual but there is also a collective mental state that is evolving under the dark shades of this contagion.

Needless to say, we are required to discipline our newly developed routines and try to maintain a healthy lifestyle, with less time spent on electronic gadgets. We need to sit with our family members, indulge in purposeful activities like gardening, cooking and even trying our hand at paintings. Amid all this we should remember and extend all possible help to the  underprivileged sections of our society.
