Srinagar, May 12 : Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested an accused, allegedly involved in beating of a doctor at SDH Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Sopore Police in a statement to Kashmir Despatch said that “Police station Sopore received a complaint from Block Medical Officer Sopore stating their in that doctor namely Mohammad Sultan Dar posted in SDH Sopore as medical officer was assaulted by one attendant namely Zuhaib Shafi Dar S/O Muhammad Shafi Dar R/O Nowpora Kallan Sopore while discharging his legitimate duties.
They said upon receiving this information case FIR No. 120/2021 U/S 353, 332 IPC registered in police station Sopore and investigation was set into motion, during the course of investigation the accused has been arrested in the instant case immediately and was produced before the competent court of law, who has been remanded till 17th of May by court of law in Sopore.
Sopore police stands firmly with the medical fraternity in this fight against the deadly COVID-19 virus, the statement added.
