SRINAGAR, Mar 18: With the onset of spring, Srinagar’s historic Badamwari Garden has transformed into a breathtaking spectacle, drawing throngs of tourists and nature lovers. The early bloom of almond trees has turned this centuries-old garden into a vibrant oasis, marking the arrival of the new season in Kashmir.
Nestled at the foothills of Koh-e-Maran in the heart of Shahr-e-Khaas, the 300-kanal garden is adorned with blooming almond trees, colorful flowers, and flowing cascades, offering visitors a serene escape from the valley’s recently snow-covered landscapes.
With Kashmir experiencing a pleasant spell of sunny weather, Badamwari has become a must-visit destination for tourists who have spent days exploring the snow-capped mountains and frozen lakes. Visitors were seen strolling under the blossomed almond trees, clicking selfies, and soaking in the charm of spring.
Sunita, a tourist from Delhi, shared her excitement: “Our visit to Badamwari was a last-minute decision before our flight, and we are so glad we came. After seeing so much snow at other tourist spots, these pink almond blossoms felt like a magical transition into spring.”
She added that she wished she could witness the garden when the trees are in full bloom, calling it a “once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
Another tourist, enchanted by the scenery, remarked: “This is nature at its finest! The atmosphere, the fragrance of fresh blooms, and the vibrant colors make this place a paradise. One must visit Badamwari at least once every two years to truly appreciate its beauty.”
Badamwari, one of Kashmir’s oldest and most cherished gardens, has historically been a symbol of spring’s arrival in the valley. The almond blossoms not only attract tourists but also signal the beginning of a season filled with vibrant landscapes and cultural festivities.
With the flowers blooming earlier than usual this year, visitors have the perfect opportunity to experience Kashmir’s springtime magic in its purest form.
