BPL families to get 3 months ration free in Kashmir

Srinagar, April 09: In a major relief the government of Jammu and Kashmir, Below Poverty Line (BPL) and Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) cardholders will get free ration in J&K from for next three months in wake of Covid-19 lockdown..

A senior official at Food, Civil Supplies and Consumers Affairs (FCS&CA) department, told that free ration for the BPL and AAY ration cards holders will given as per the orders from the government.

“It would include 5 kgs of ration to per person under PM Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana covered under National food security Act (NFSA) to ensure availability food to poor people during the lockdown,” the official said.

As per the official the distribution of free ration will be started from 19th or 20th April onwards.
