Srinagar Mar 18: In view of COVID-19, the health authorities have set up different quarantine and isolation wards in different Hospitals across South Kashmir, as a precautionary measure to provide first-hand treatment to patients.
The Principal Medical College Anantnag told Kashmir Despatch that ” We are on toes to tackle with the situation if any arises. Our doctors are on duty with proper medical facilities on the ground” he said that we have 6 quarantine and 4 isolation wards equipped with proper facilities. He said that we have received two cases, one of the patients was diagnosed by doctors with Nominia and later he was shifted to SKIMS Sgr for treatment and another has been referred to home after proper diagnosis” he said.
Chief Medical Officer Shopian told Kashmir Despatch that “we have 10 bedded quarantine facility at PHC Tikona and one isolation ward at District hospital, however, we have not received any case, he said we are ready to deal with such case if received, as I have also written to Directorate Health services Kashmir for further facilities like more isolation and other related medical facilities, to serve the people better” he said.
The Cheif Medical Officer Kulgam told Kashmir that “we have 40 bedded quarentation facilities here and we have not received any such case, hope we will not receive any in future, GOD bless all of us” he said. However, the Nodal officer for District Pulwama Dr. Arshad was not available Despite repeated calls by this Correspondent.
The World Health Organisation has declared the outbreak COVID-19 as a global epidemic, however, in order to ensure the safety of citizens the government has taken various measures regarding sanitization and the medical facilities on the ground.
