J&K Students Association demands immediate restoration of 4G in Kashmir Valley

Srinagar, Mar,17:The J&K Students Association, an “Amalgam of  Kashmiri Students Union” here on tuesday demanded immediate restoration of 4G internet services in Kashmir Valley, as students are continuously facing hardships  in pursing their higher education programmes in distance and online mode. in an exclusive chat with Kashmir despatch, the, Additional Spokesperson of Association, Younus Rashid said “we are requesting the Governor administration to lift the ban on high-Speed internet connectivity in Valley, as students of the State have initially suffered a lot due to the ongoing ban on high-Speed internet services.

However, the assocation spokespeson told Kashmir Despatch  that “Their is a Right to surf the internet in a democratic constitution, as well as Right to Education” He further said that the education sector has become a victim of  present uncertainty, after post-abrogation of Article 370, besides that jammu and kashmir state is now going through a fragile phase in view of COVID-19, as medical fraternity has too demaded restoration high speed  internet should be restored, so that people may know about this disease and get a knowledge regading new-medical treatises regarding sanitation.


Meanwhile the new academic calendar has begin and the universities and colleges across the country had initiated their admission process, however a large number of students from jammu and kashmir are no longer to apply for higher education programmes across the country due to non-avaiibility of high speed internet. besides that the High and Higher secondary school going students are too fcaing lot of inconvienece for accesing vedio lectures of their academiic prospect.


Arif a resident of Bemina locality told Kashmir despatch that previous year he had not make his admission at a University at in New Dehli, now i was supposed to apply again, but i didn’t avail the proper internet service for filling up my application form,he said. now Arif told Kashmir Despatch that he is now supposed to leave the state to fill up his form at the University Camopus at New-Dehli, due to low internet connectivity. Moreever some students  have alleged that the universities outside the  has set up a online fee processing system for entrance application forms, but due to low speed internet facility they are facing trouble while doing the onlinbe fee transactions,  demading for lifting tyhe  curbs from high-speed internet , so that they can make their acess easy, while filling up their online admission forms. however  the amalagam has requested Governor administration to look into the matter and to take immediate steps to restore high-speed Internet Connectivity in Kashmir valley on humanitarian grounds, so that students won’t face any inconvenience.


Meanwhile it pertain to mention here that after the abrogation of Article-370, the Government has snapped all internet, Mobile, and Telecom services across Jammu aqnd Kashmir, and lifted the ban after 15 days of restriction from Land line services in phased manner. later the government had given acess to post-paid mobile services, after that the Hon’ble apex court had directed the administration to restore all mobile and tele-services, however state adminstration has still put curbs on 4G-High speed internet services, leading the business and students community in lurch.
