JKAP, NC, Congress, BJP condemn Nowgam attack

SRINAGAR, August 14: Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) on Friday strongly condemned the Nowgam militant attack in which two policemen Ishfaq Ahmad and Fayaz Ahmad were killed and another cop sustained severe injuries.  


In a statement issued here, a spokesman of the party termed the attack an inhuman act. “Violence is not a solution but a gigantic impediment that spreads hatred. In any of its manifestations, violent extremism is unacceptable in a civilized society, regardless of political, ideological or religious motivations,” the JKAP spokesman added.


The spokesman observed that it is highly unfortunate and heartrending that Kashmir continues to lose precious lives to senseless violence which has only aggravated the sufferings of the people over the years.


“The attackers have no respect for human lives and are only adding to the tragedies of the ill-fated families which must be condemned by one and all,” he added, while extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wishing a speedy recovery of the injured cop.


Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Friday expressed deep anguish and sorrow over the killing of two cops in an attack in Nowgam locality in the outskirts of Srinagar, saying violence in all its forms is unacceptable and inhuman.


While condemning the act of violence that resulted in killing of two cops the party spokesperson said that Violence in all its forms is despicable and has no scope in the contemporary world, it only leaves behind the account of inevitable loss and prolonged grief.


 Meanwhile, The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today strongly condemned the Nowgam Militant attack, describing it as senseless and shameful.
The Party also expressed deep shock over the loss of cops and demanded exemplary punishment to killers.


In a statement to Kashmir Despatch, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Spokesperson strongly condemned the Nowgam militant attack in which two cops Ishfaq Ayoub and Fayaz Ahmad were martyred leaving another cop Mohd Ashraf injured and described the attack as very shameful, inhuman and mindless act.


Meanwhile, Bhartiya Janata Party (JK) spokesman Altaf Thakur strongly condemned the Nowgam attack stating that police must track down the militants and punish them sternly.


In a brief statement issued here, Thakur said that the attack on policemen who were deployed for people’s security is an act of frustration. He extended his solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved families of two slain cops.
