To keep the town neat and clean, the Chairperson Municipal Council Sopore and Executive officer have appealed people not to throw garbage and animal waste on roadside on the auspicious day of Eid ul Adha.
The appeal came ahead of the Eid ul Adha being celebrated in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir on 21st of July, 2021.
On the auspicious day of Eid, people usually sacrifice the animals and throw the garbage on the roadside to be collected by sanitation workers.
“Cleanliness is half of faith so animal waste must be kept in the dustbins or poly bags till the vehicles arranged by Municipal Council Sopore reach the area to collect the garbage. We have already issued orders and we (people and administration) have to keep the town neat and clean,” said Chairperson MC Masrat Kar while taking with Kashmir Despatch.
She said that it is the duty of every citizen to participate in the campaign for cleanliness.
“Sacrifice is for God and also Cleanliness is part of faith so both ways we have please our Lord. Sopore is our town, we should care for its beauty,” she added.
The sanitization teams of MC Sopore have been ordered to keep vehicles ready and collect the animal waste from localities on the day of Eid.
In this regard, MC Sopore mobile van was announcing the orders by MC Sopore in the town.
The department has also asked the people associated with sacrificial animals not to keep animals on roadside for selling purpose, which is a punishable act.
“The ground opposite Hassan Motors has been dedicated for keeping the sacrificial animals. People can keep the animals there for selling purposes. No one will be allowed to keep the animals on the roadside hence spreading dirt around, “a Municipal Council Sopore officer said.
