Meej, Pampore Encounter Ends With the Killing of Two Foreign Militants

Local militant Surrenders before Government Forces

Civilian allegedly used as Human Shield succumbs, police rejects claims



Pulwama, Nov 6: The encounter which started on Thurday evening at Meej, Pampore of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district ended with the killing of Two Pakistani militants while as local militant Mir Khawar surrendered by laying down his arms before government forces.
Meanwhile two civilians who as per locals were used as Human were injured in the initial phase of gunfight among which youth namely Abid Ah. Mir succumbed to his injuries on Friday morning.
While as police refuted such claims and told that they were killed by indiscriminate firing of militants.
The Pakistani Militants have been identified as Saifullah and Musaib belonging to the Lashkar-i-Toiba militant outfit.
The encounter took place when police and 50RR laid the Cordon around the Meej village of Pulwama district’s Pampore Tehsil. When the forces rushed towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants open fire on them which was retaliated triggering an encounter.
Meanwhile internet services were snapped in the Awantipora police division as a precautionary measure. (CNS)
