Pattan road mishap : Injured driver succumbs toll 2

Pattan : Hours after the driver of the SRTC bus who was injured among six people succumbed to his injuries on Monday late evening officials said.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that the toll rose to 2 in Pattan accident as the driver of the vehicle succumbed to his injuries in Srinagar hospital.

Earleir on Monday evening, In a road mishap, a sarpanch from north Kashmir’s Kupwara district was killed and six people including two policemen were injured when a bus carrying Panchayat Raj Institution members met with an accident near Renj Pattan area of Baramulla.

Official sources said that SRTC bus carrying PRI members had a head-on collision with a tipper vehicle near Renj Tappar Pattan, leading to the death of one of them identified as Fayaz Ahmad Bhat son of Samad Bhat from Gulgam Kupwara and injuries to six others identified as Haqeeqat Shah son of Abdul Qayoom, Abdul Qayoom Shah son of Aladin of Gugloosa Kupwara, constable Abdul Hameed Bhat son of Abdul Jabbar, Abdul Jabbar Lone son of Abdul Rahim Lone of Sherwanipora Baramulla, SGCT Mohammad Iqbal Sheikh son fo Ghulam Mohiuddin , Abdul Ahad Khan son of Wali Mohammad Khan of Nutnoosa.

The injured have been hospitalized.

Pertinent to mention here that the bus was coming from Jammu after being part of the Prime Minister rally that took place on Sunday.
