Sopore encounter: Weapon looted at Lawaypora shootout on March 21 recovered from slain militant, says Police

Srinagar, Jun 22 : Jammu and Kashmir police Tuesday said that it recovered the rifle snatched by militants during a shootout at Lawaypora on March 21 this year from one of the three militants killed at Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday.

Inspector General Police (IGP) Kashmir range Vijay Kumar tweeted: “Rifle recovered from LeT # militant Khurshid Mir, who was killed in Sopore #encounter is same as the one snatched in Lawaypora attack, in which 3 CRPF personnel were killed.”

Police said that another militant who was also involved in the attack and has been identified as Nadeem Abrar will be killed soon.
