Sopore, April 30 : Locals in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday afternoon timely intervened to prevent a girl from committing suicide.
Reports reaching news agency Kashmir Scroll indicate that a 21-year-old girl (name withheld) from Sempora jumped into the Phuru nallah from Mazbug bridge. However, the locals present there rushed towards her and rescued her promptly.
The girl was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where her condition is said to be stable.
Confirming the incident, an official told news agency Kashmir Scroll that they are investigating the circumstances that led the girl to attempt suicide. (KS)
