Top ECI official to hold meeting with DCs tomorrow

Srinagar, Jun 22 : In a significant move, a top official of the Election Commission of India(ECI) would held a virtual meeting with all deputy commissioners of Jammu & Kashmir on Wednesday to discuss the details shared by them with the poll-body about  demographic and topographic information of electoral constituencies in their respective jurisdictions.

Sources told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that deputy election commissioner Chandra Bushan Kumar would hold two separate meetings with DCs of J&K Union Territory to discuss the data submitted  by them to the poll-body.

“ ……. I am directed to inform you that Deputy Election Commissioner , Chandra Bushan Kumar shall be holding a virtual meeting with all district election officers in two groups on 23rd June 2021,” reads a letter from Joint Chief Electoral Officer, J&K to DCs.

According to  schedule, the Deputy Election  Commissioner would hold a meeting with DEOs of Kupwara, Bandipora, Baramulla, Srinagar, Ganderbal, Budgam, Jammu, Samba Rajouri and Poonch between  11:00 am to 12: 30 pm.

Later, he would hold a meeting with DEOs of Kishtwar, Doda, Ramban, Udhampur, Reasi, Kathua, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and Anantnag between 13:30 pm to 15:00 pm.

The meeting is being held after DCs submitted data  about electorate, topography and other details of the Assembly constituencies within their jurisdiction—(KNO)
