Srinagar, Nov 9 : Authorities on Monday put on suspension Treasury officer Kreeri (Baramulla) over alleged embezzlement charges.
An order in this regard, of which a copy lies with news agency, reads that “Based on preliminary report from Director Accounts and Treasuries Kashmir wherein Treasury Officer Kreeri has been reported of being involved in embezzlement of Government Money by fraudulent drawl of pension and crediting the same to non-existant pensioners etc., pending enquiry, Bashir Ahmad Changa, Assistant Treasury Officer, Treasury Kreeri, Baramulla is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect (sic.)”.
“During the period of suspension he shall remain attached in the officer Director Accounts and Treasuries Kashmir, Subsistence allowance as admissable under rules is also sanctioned in his favour”, the order reads.
“This is issued with the approval of authorities”, the order reads further. (GNS)
