Stating in clear terms that cutting and smuggling of green gold would not be allowed in the state, Minister of state for Forests, Irrigation and Flood Control Abdul Majid Padder has said that transfer policy in the state would be implemented in letter and spirit. Talking to KNS, Padder said that space of timber smugglers would be squeezed and strict action would be taken against those found involved in timber smuggling. He termed timber as J&K’s national asset and said that nobody would be allowed to illegally cut the green gold of Kashmir. The MoS Forests said that transfer policy in the forest department would be implemented in letter and spirit and the officers who are placed at one place for years together would be shifted.
