Sopore : DIG North Nitish Kumar on thursday chaired a Public Darbar at Police Station Tarzoo and interacted with civil society members, representatives of traders federations and Sarpanches of the Sopore district.
The interaction focused on various issues including combating the drug menace and gambling. Other issues like traffic regulation system of Sopore town and illegal encroachment by street vendors in main town were also discussed. The adverse effects of other social evils were also highlighted among the participants that require immediate corrective measures. The participants reiterated that collective steps need to be taken to keep a check on the social evils.
The meet was chaired by DIG Baramulla Nitish Kumar and attended by SSP Sopore Harmeet Singh Mehta, SDPO Sopore Dr. Sandheep, DSP Showket Ahmed, DSP Mashkoor Ahmad, SHO Tarzoo Masrat.
Referring to the issues highlighted by the participants, DIG North Nitish Kumar assured them that police department will provide all possible help as and when required for redressal of these issues and added that such meeting are organized to solicit the suggestion and support for the better policing.
