Srinagar, 25 May 2016: In pursuance with its vision of constructive development of Kashmiri youth, a multifaceted institution “Chinar 9 Jawan Club” was conceptualised by Chinar Corps, oriented towards providing education, recreational avenues and sports facilities for the locals. Towards the same initiative, Army inaugurated three Chinar 9Jawan Clubs at village Mawar Payeen, Magam and Tangpora.
Chinar 9Jawan Clubs were inaugurated by Maj Gen Jarken Gamlin, GOC, Kilo Force on 25 May 2016. To establish the “Chinar 9 Jawan Clubs” Community Centres were identified close to State Highways with easy accessibility to large number of villages. To make it beneficial for majority of the youth, their prior consent and requirement were solicited before finalising the facilities that have been created at the newly established “Chinar 9Jawan Club” at all the places.
A strong endeavour has been made to provide conducive environment and state of the art facilities at the Club which will go a long way in building talent, aptitude and resilience among the local youth by providing them with good recreational facilities and avenues to increase their knowledge and skills, thus also keeping them away from indulging in anti social activities. The facilities created at “Chinar 9Jawan Club” includes mini library, Carom & Chess, Computer &Internet facility, Pool Table, Table Tennis and TV with DTC.
Apart from the Sarpanches and Nambardars, a large number of military and civil dignitaries were also present at the inauguration of Chinar 9Jawan Clubs. The youth of the area have eagerly waited for its inauguration so that they could utilise the facilities available at ‘Chinar 9Jawan Clubs’. The initiative is yet another in the series of people friendly enterprises that the Army has been continuously taking.
