2154 posts of Teachers for 14 districts approves

0

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 24: J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has approved selections for 2154 posts of Teachers for 14 districts of Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Kupwara, Pulwama, Shopian, Srinagar, Samba, Udhampur, Reasi and Rajouri. The Board also accorded approval to the inclusion of more than a thousand candidates in wait lists against these selections.

“The selections were approved at 148th marathon meeting of the Board convened here on 21 and 22 February, under Chairmanship of Zubair Ahmad, Chairman, J&K Services Selection Board. The meeting was attended by the Members of the Board, Rachna Sharma, Vivek Sharma, Prof Tasleema Peer, Ajay Kumar Sharma, Dr Nirupa Rai and Abdul Aziz Sheikh. Controller of Examinations, JKSSB, Musheer Ahmad Mirza, Secretary, JKSSB, Ranjeet Singh and other officers of the Board also attended the meeting,” said Malik Suhail, PRO, JKSSB in a statement issued here today.

He said the selections of Teachers have been approved in three disciplines of General Line, Science/Math and Urdu.

Malik said these selections were confronted with many issues, which included massive litigations, unmentioned degrees in online application forms, seeking of change of categories mentioned in the online application forms, degrees with overlapping periods of studies, preferences sought from the candidates, besides huge number of claims and counter claims made by the candidates. “The Board sorted out these issues in consultation with the General Administration Department and the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and disposed of 387 representations/claims of the candidates accordingly and cleared the selections accordingly,” he said.

He said given the fact that a substantial number of candidates figuring in selections/waitlist zones were having degrees with overlapping periods of study, the Board decided that in respect of candidates with overlapping periods of studies, recommendations shall be subject to further detailed scrutiny, for which a mechanism shall be laid down, separately. “Based on that scrutiny, the release or further action on these recommendations shall be taken,” he said.

Malik said to benefit maximum number of candidates, the Board decided to issue selections of a particular District Cadre in all the three disciplines simultaneously, so as to obviate the chances of any candidate joining against more than one post, which was the aim for seeking preferences. “In the interest of such candidates, it was also decided to request the School Education Department, to consider issuance of formal appointment orders in respect of selected candidates, simultaneously, in respect of a particular district cadre in all the disciplines, so as to ensure that no candidate who figures in more than one selection list is able to join and undertake his/her process of document verification in the indenting department, against more than one post, due to time lag in issuance of selection lists/appointment orders,” he said.

Malik said these selections also witnessed huge litigations and till date nearly 30 court cases have come to fore and appropriate action has been taken in such cases. “The Board has already filed five LPAs in the matter, and applications for modification of interim orders of the Courts in another 05 cases, alongwith objections have also been filed,” he said and added that however, in light of the advice of the Law Department, the Board decided that in court cases, where the SSB has filed LPAs and applications for modification of orders, the Board shall, pending consideration of such LPAs and applications, assess the claims of petitioners in terms of these court orders and reserve posts in selection/slots in waitlists, wherever required till the LPAs and applications filed by SSB are considered by the Court.

These selections having witnessed different issues, and claims and counter claims of the candidates, the Board in consultation with General Administration Department and the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, tried its best to align these selections strictly in order of merit and as per law laid down on the issue and rules and regulations governing the process of selections.

The selections shall be uploaded on the official website of the J&K Services Selection Board,www.jkssb.nic.in from tomorrow, he said.

Srinagar

PDP president Mehbooba Mufti Sunday said any tinkering with Article 370 and Article 35A of the Constitution, which provide special status to Jammu and Kashmir, will render null and void the state’s Instrument of Accession with India.

“Article 370 is the constitutional connection between J&K & Indian Union. Instrument of accession is contingent on Article 370 which is inextricably linked to Article 35A. Any tampering will render Treaty of Accession null & void,” Mehbooba said in a series of tweets. She said Kashmir Valley is rife with speculation about the status of Article 35A.

“Before taking a decision, GoI (Government of India) must consider that J&K was the only Muslim-majority state that chose a secular India over Pak during partition,” she added.

Mehbooba cautioned that Kashmiris should not be blamed for the developments if the special provision was scrapped.

“Those frothing at the mouth & calling for its removal shouldn’t blame Kashmiris for the developments that will follow such a hare-brained decision,” she said.

Mr. Owaisi added that the attack in which more than forty CRPF troopers were killed is backed by Pakistan and its state terrorists. “This plan was conducted by the Pakistani army and ISI. And those who claim responsibility for this attack, I want to tell them that you are not the Jaish-e-Mohammad, you are Jaish-e-satan,” Mr. Owasis said.

Real Kashmir draw 2-2 with Indian Arrows in I-League

0

Bhubaneswar, Feb 24 (PTI) Debutante Real Kashmir on Sunday continued their unbeaten run with a 2-2 draw against Indian Arrows to leave the I-League title race tantalising poised here.

After 75 minutes of goalless football, suddenly the match sprung into life as four goals were scored in the final 15 minutes of regulation time at the Kalinga Stadium.

Indian Arrow’s Amarjit Singh (78th minute) found the target from the penalty spot before Kofi Tetteh (82nd) restored the parity for Real Kashmir from a well-taken corner by Vicky Meitei.

Mason Robertson (90th), who was lurking in for long, then earned the lead for the visitors only to lose it within 60 seconds when Rahul KP headed an Anwar Ali corner home.

Following the result, Real Kashmir FC took the second spot on the table with 33 points from 17 matches, while Indian Arrows reclaim the seventh spot with 18 points from 19 matches.

The Srinagar-based team is still four points away from table-toppers Chennai City (37) with just one match to go. Real Kashmir FC now faces East Bengal at home in their last outing.

Chennai, on the other hand, still have two matches to play — one against Mohun Bagan and other against Churchill Brothers.

Real Kashmir will hope to receive full points from their match against defending champion Minerva Punjab, who had pulled out citing security concerns following the Pulwama terror attack which left 40 CRPF jawans dead.

Minerva had asked AIFF to postpone the game which the governing body refused, prompting the team to approach the High Court. AIFF has referred the matter to its I-League Committee and a decision on it is pending.

In the match, Arrows coach Floyd Pinto made as many as seven changes from their last game against Gokulam Kerala FC handing Boris, Narender, Suresh, Ninthoi, Akash and Rohit Danu another start in the ongoing I-League.

Moreover, he opted to bring Lovepreet Singh replacing Prabhsukhan Gill under the woodwork.

On the other hand, Real Kashmir coach David Robertson didn’t feel to tweak his strategies having fielded the same starting eleven.

The yellow outfit could have taken an early lead in the 19th minute through Danish Farooq but the 22-year-old attacker blew it over the crossbar.

Four minutes later, the visitors came very close to opening the scoreline once again from Surchandra’s corner. The corner landed deep in the penalty box and it was laid off to Bazie whose feeble touch was cleared off by Lovepreet comfortably.

Mason, the usual centre-back, was deployed a bit up by the gaffer in their quest to breach the Arrows defence and he outran Sanjiv in the left flank only to see his effort hit the side-netting.

After the half-hour mark, Arrows started to show some urgency but the lack of penetration failed the youngsters till the end.

Rohit Danu turned and collected the ball inside the box following a melee but his toe-poke sailed over the woodwork in the 39th minute.

Two minutes later, Amarjit put in another delicious pass to Rohit but he miscued the opportunity to let the chance go.

Amarjit continued to dictate the midfield and rolled a dangerous delivery directed to Boris inside the Real Kashmir penalty box but the lanky goalie Bilal Khan valiantly jumped on his feet to avert the danger.

Arrows could have witnessed a splendid goal when Ninthoi hoodwinked it over Mason to rush into the 18-yard-box but eventually, squandered the opportunity.

Rahim Ali won a penalty in the 75th minute when his powerful effort from outside the box hit Ravanan’s hand and the referee didn’t hesitate to award the youngsters a spot-kick.

Skipper Amarjit slotted it calmly past Bilal Khan to send the Arrows dugout into a delirium.

The Srinagar-based outfit changed the gear immediately and finally, they got the elusive goal in the 82nd minute.

Vicky Meitei’s corner dipped near the goal and Abednedo Tetteh, who replaced Krizo, leapt high to find the back of the neck.

After netting the equaliser, David Robertson instilled more legs inside the opponent box to net the winner and none but his son stunned the Arrows minutes later.

Vicky Meitei, the craftsman of the first goal, floated a long ball from the wing to Katebe. After the defender mistimed it, Mason volleyed it home to take the lead.

Their joy was cut short by super-sub Rahul KP who did no mistake to score from a copybook header goal from Anwar Ali’s well-taken free-kick in the first minute of the added time to leave the ground with a point from their final home fixture of season.

Indian Arrows will clash with Mohun Bagan on February 28.
