JAMMU, Dec 12: In a gesture aimed at fostering cultural ties and spiritual unity, Shri Anil Kumar, Minister for Science & Technology in the Uttar Pradesh Government, and Shri Danish Azad Ansari, Minister of State for Minority Welfare, Uttar Pradesh, met Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, to extend a formal invitation for the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. The invitation was conveyed on behalf of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath.
During the meeting, sources told Kashmir Despatch the ministers highlighted the importance of participation from the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir in the world-renowned Maha Kumbh Mela, which will take place in Prayagraj from January 13 to February 26, 2025. They encouraged cultural organizations and citizens from J&K to actively participate in this grand spiritual festival.
The Maha Kumbh Mela, recognized as the largest public gathering and spiritual pilgrimage in the world, holds deep cultural and religious significance. It is expected to draw millions of devotees, sadhus, and tourists from across the globe. The festival provides a platform to showcase diverse traditions, rituals, and artistic expressions, making it a symbol of India’s unity in diversity.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed his appreciation for the invitation and assured support for fostering inter-state cultural exchange during the event. “The Maha Kumbh Mela is a remarkable celebration of faith and culture, and we are honored to contribute to this sacred festival,” he said.
The exchange also signifies the shared cultural heritage and spiritual values that bind the people of Uttar Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. By promoting participation, the initiative aims to strengthen the bonds of unity and cooperation between the two regions.
